Atlanta Rhythm Section

I picked up the paper this morning
And read all the daily blues
The world is one big tragedy
I wonder what I can do

About all the pain and injustice
About all of the sorrow
We're living in a danger zone
The world could end tomorrow

But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let in bother me tonight
Tomorrow I might go as far as suicide
But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight

Life on the streets is a jungle
A struggle to keep up the pace
I just can't beat that old dog eat dog
The rats keep winning the rat race

But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
The world is in an uproar and I see no end in sight
But I won't let it bother me tonight

Lord, Lord , Lord we got nothin but trouble
Well I've done all I can do today
So bartender pour me a double right now

Cause I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight
The world is in an uproar
And I see no end in sight
But I will not let it bother me

This song was released in 1978. The more things change the more they stay the same . I wish I had stayed the same. The only constant in life is that everything changes.

                                             me 5/19/78
Now when I first had this picture made I didn't like it, I didn't have on any makeup or jewelry and hadn't done anything with my hair. I was barefoot and wearing jean shorts but thank God you can't see that.
After all these years now it's one of my favorites. I only had my picture taken professionally three times so I am grateful at least for those. The one below is the first picture I had done at a studio since I was three. I had taken " my favorite cousin"  Vickie to have her pictures taken for cheerleading. She was head cheerleader , home coming queen , the whole route.

We are as different as night and day. She is light I am dark. She is flighty I am serious. But we  laugh our asses off when we get together.
Anyway while she was getting her pictures taken the photographer asked me if I was going to get any. I said no I had just brought her. He said he needed some practice with a new lens and if I would sit for him he'd give me a set of pictures. He was a really nice guy and Vic kept pushing me so I did it. Once again the days before makeup and also once again wearing no shoes. What a fucking hillbilly , at least you can't see.

6/14/76

There were some more but but were ruined in a flood. These have damage too.
At the time I really didn't like these, my teeth hadn't grown all the way in and like I said no shoes but at least I had on jewelry since I was wearing a sundress. I loved and still love sundresses.
Sometimes I wished I had done my hair but like I say both times I wasn't expecting to get my picture taken.
Now the one where I did wear a nice dress and fix my hair I don't have.
That's the way it goes , but back then I didn't like these pictures yet now I am happy I have them.

Everything changes.
But I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight.

Cheers , Amelie
