Perspective

You know perspective is a funny thing. Every one's different. When you look at something from a different point of view it can take on a whole new meaning.
Since I like to take pictures and garden I will combine the two to make my point.
In this instance I am using my Japanese maple. Shown from four different perspectives it will demonstrate how different something looks if you only change the angle from which your viewing it.
This works with everything , every aspect of your life.

straight forward view

looking underneath

looking down on it

stepping back and trying to see the whole picture

Each viewpoint is valid and taken on it's own you can draw conclusions from it but only from stepping back and looking at every angle can you then put it in perspective.  It seems we've lost perspective in this world.  People feel they have the entitlement to force their views on everyone without even trying to see it from the other person side.
We aren't the United States anymore. We have truly become the red and blue states in this country. The worst part of it from my " perspective " is that the politicians are the ones who are dividing this country and they are all the fucking same.  There's not a single politician out there who isn't in it for the rush they get from power.   Saying one politician is different from the rest is bullshit.  I don't care if they are black, white, red or, purple, old , young  or in between , they're cut from the same cloth , they just get stitched up at different tailors.  Make no mistake they all have agendas.
I'm starting to worry about Obama's agenda. The country is going bankrupt and the spending is out of control. There are more people on welfare than ever before and they sit around on their computers spitting out the most vile , viscous rhetoric I've ever heard. They are filled with hate , hate for everyone and everything.
No one ever has a kind word for anyone anymore. We have , it seems only idol worship of the unworthy or vitriolic hatred spawned by jealousy.
They either fawn all over them licking their boots or spit venom at them like a poisonous puff adder.
[ as an aside if you know British comedy you will know that line and who said it ]

It's so strange but that damn Anne Murray song keeps running thru my head

I rolled out this morning
The kids had the local news show on
Bryant Gumbel was talking 'bout the fighting in Lebanon
Some senator was squawking 'bout the bad economy
It's gonna get worse you see , we need a change in policy

There's a local paper wrapped up in a rubber bad
One more sad story's one more than I can stand
Just once how I'd like to see the headlines say
Not much to print today , can't find nothing bad to say , because

Nobody robbed the liquor store on the lower side of town
Nobody OD'ed , nobody burned a single building down
Nobody fired a shot in anger , nobody had to die in vain
Sure could use a little good news today

I'll come home this evening
I'll bet the news will be the same
Somebody takes a hostage , somebody steals a plane
How I want to hear the anchor man talk about a fair
And how we cleaned up the air , how everybody learned to care
Whoa , won't somebody tell me

Nobody was assassinated in the whole third world today
And in the streets of Ireland all the children  had to do was play
And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA
Sure could use a little good news today

This song is from 1983.  Nothing has changed. It's never going to unless we step back , consider all the angles , look at the big picture and put it in perspective.

Cheers , Amelie
