It was like water was being poured out of the sky.
I know we didn't get it anywhere near as bad as those poor people who have had to endure these killer tornadoes but damage is still done.
Have you ever been thru a tornado ? I've lived in tornado alley most of my life but I've only been in two.
It's funny but I've been thru two hurricanes too. They both are scary as hell but exhilarating just by the sheer forces of nature. We can forget that nature always prevails.
The thing about a tornado is when the eye is over you , it's not just quiet but it's a weird quiet. Like all the air has been sucked out of the room. The light changes too , gets kind of green and yellow. The tornado sirens have been going off every night this week. The weather affects me and I can't sleep whereas it puts my husband out like a light. So the result is that I sit thru storms alone. I prefer it that way.
The next day you go out and start trying to clear away the damage done.
Storms leave a hell of a mess but it's when it gets my flowers it bothers me. The baby blue Siberian iris's had just bloomed and were lovely. The deep blue ones bloom next . At least I got some pictures of them and the ones that were beaten into the ground I brought in and put on the dining room table so I could enjoy them for a couple of more days.
Nature teaches us that no matter how hard we are pounded we need to get the feck up , clear away the damage and salvage what we can.
Look for the beauty and you'll find it , sometimes you have to improvise.

| I love these iris they are the first to bloom I have them planted by my front door because blue tinted flowers attract angels and bring good health. |
