Why is it after the age of thirty going to the DMV to renew your drivers license has a foreboding to it? Well you have to take an eye test which by the time your my age you think I hope they don't make me wear fecking glasses. I need glasses to read now but not for anything else.  Still it gives one pause, also by now I've had more than my share of bad drivers license photos and the worst part is how often they will use that photo if they have no others of you so you could have been abducted and held hostage or worse and to add insult to injury they are flashing this God awful license photo to ask the public for help. I've seen mug shots that were better than some of my drivers license photos. At least they don't let people use their cell phones in there anymore. I am so very tired of people and their cell phones. Please go away and leave me alone. Don't you miss phone booths ,when you didn't want people to listen so you closed the door ? [ I'll save the cell phone diatribe for another post.]
So my week's highpoint will be standing in line at the DMV and then having a picture taken that I am sure I will hate and have to live with for the next four years. I liked it better before they made it expire on your birthday. WTH kind of present is that?

Cheers, Amelie
